Saunaluento 26.03.2015 18.00

On aika kokoontua yhteen saunottelemaan sekä luentoa kuuntelemaan. Tällä kertaa paikalle saapuu Timo Sajavaara kertomaan ajoituksen tärkeydestä. Mies itse kuvaili aihetta sanoin:

"The art of dating art - miksi oikea ajoitus on niin tärkeää?"

Aikaisemmin lähinnä vain kiihdyttimistä ja ohutkalvoista innostunut
tutkija on nyt reilun vuoden ajan ollut taidehistorioitsijoiden kanssa
yhteisessä projektissa, joka tähtää humanistisen ja
luonnontieteellisen tiedon yhdistämiseen erilaisten
kulttuurihistoriallisten esineiden ajoittamisessa ja alkuperän
selvittämisessä. Menetelmiä on kehitetty, ajoituksia on tehty ja
paljon on opittu. Mutta onko fyysikoista konossööri-perinteen
murtajiksi?

Tilana tapahtumalle toimii vanha tuttu Nano-sauna. Saavu siis paikalle selvittämään itsellesi ajoituksen salat.

Saunalecture

It is time to gather together for a little lecture on the side of a sauna-evening. This time the lecture will be held by Timo Sajavaara. Man himself described the topic with the following words:

"The art of dating art - Why the right dating is so important?"

A researcher who has earlier been interested mainly in accelerators, has now worked over a year in a joint project with art-historians The project aims at merging the knowledge of humanistic sciences and the knowledge of natural sciences, in order to date and to discover the origin of cultural historic artifacts. Methods have been developed, datings have been done and a great deal has been learned. However, can physicists break the expert-tradition in the field?

Saunalecture will be held in the Nano-sauna. So arrive there to find out the secrets of dating.

The lecture will be held in Finnish. However, f(k)'s pr-person will be present, who will more than gladly translate the lecture into English.
